Copyright and License

Zona Economics and Islamic Economics (ZEIE) is committed to promoting the broad dissemination, accessibility, and responsible use of scholarly knowledge. The journal applies an open-access publishing model while protecting the intellectual property rights of authors.

1. Copyright

Authors who publish articles in Zona Economics and Islamic Economics (ZEIE) retain the copyright to their published work.

By submitting and publishing an article in ZEIE, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and authorize the journal to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, archive, and make the article publicly available through the journal's electronic platform and other legitimate academic indexing, archiving, and dissemination services.

The copyright remains with the author(s) unless otherwise stated in a separate publishing agreement.

2. Licensing Policy

Articles published in Zona Economics and Islamic Economics are distributed under the:

Under this license, readers and other users are permitted to:

3. Terms of Attribution

Authors retain the right to:

  • Share the published article through personal or institutional websites;

  • Distribute copies for scholarly and educational purposes; and

  • Build upon the published research in future scholarly works.

Appropriate acknowledgment of the original publication in ZEIE should be provided whenever the published version is reused.

5. Open Access

Zona Economics and Islamic Economics provides open access to its published content.

Readers may access published articles without subscription barriers in accordance with the journal's licensing terms.

The journal believes that open access contributes to the wider dissemination of knowledge, increases the visibility and potential impact of research, and supports scholarly communication at national and international levels.

6. Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted to deposit and distribute their published articles through:

  • Institutional repositories;

  • Subject repositories;

  • University repositories;

  • Personal academic websites; and

  • Other legitimate scholarly platforms.

Authors should provide appropriate bibliographic information and acknowledge ZEIE as the original publication venue.

7. Third-Party Copyrighted Material

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all figures, photographs, tables, datasets, illustrations, or other copyrighted materials included in their manuscripts are used legally.

When copyrighted material owned by a third party is reproduced, authors must obtain the necessary permission before publication unless the material is already available under a license permitting such use.

Third-party material that is not covered by the article's Creative Commons license should be clearly identified.

8. Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts do not infringe the copyright, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights of third parties.

The use of copyrighted material without appropriate authorization may result in manuscript rejection, correction, removal, or other appropriate editorial action.

9. Publisher and Journal Rights

Authors grant Zona Economics and Islamic Economics (ZEIE) and Yayasan Mentari Madani a non-exclusive right to:

  • Publish the article;

  • Identify ZEIE as the original publisher;

  • Distribute and archive the published version;

  • Include the article in journal databases and archives;

  • Submit article metadata and full text, where appropriate, to indexing and abstracting services; and

  • Preserve the article through appropriate digital preservation systems.

These rights do not transfer ownership of the copyright from the author(s) to the journal or publisher.
